Yesler Building

Project details

Located in the Pioneer Square Preservation District, this 1909 Beaux-Arts building was once home to various King County and City of Seattle offices. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it has sat partially vacant and underutilized in recent years.

In addition to rehabilitation and safety and seismic upgrades, Clark Design Group is designing and implementing new office spaces for all six floors, a penthouse, and two basement levels. Public Defender employees, currently housed in 4 separate locations, will be consolidated. Each division will have their own private entry, but will share functional spaces. Working with multiple user groups on a needs assessment has been critical. The project is targeted for LEED Gold.
