Divers Institute of Technology

Clark Design Group provided architectural and interior design services for the Divers Institute of Technology tenant improvement on the north shore of Lake Union.

This location gives Divers teaching environments in the classroom, in the water and in the welding shop for comprehensive, hands-on training. In addition, it provides instructor offices, meeting rooms, a computer lab and student locker rooms.

Clark made interior finish selections that would wear well against daily use by students in heavy gear and would harmonize with the heavy-timber interior character of the building. They also provided interior facilities with direct access to the exterior, in-water activities.

In addition to the interior tenant improvement, Clark assisted Divers in obtaining a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit for the over-water floats used in the exterior classrooms.
